You are in business for yourself, but not by yourself. In addition to building relationships with your upline mentors, it is important to connect with other IBOs. You should attend local Business Briefings, corporate events, and participate in conference calls.

It is important to bring at least one IBO prospect to each local Business Briefing or meeting. It is difficult to overstate the positive impact this will have on the growth of your business. When you invite prospects, suggest that you meet for a cup of coffee 30 minutes prior to the meeting. This gives you the opportunity to learn more about your guests’ potential interest in AmeriPlan®. Plus it allows you to walk into the meeting with your guests and introduce them to other guests and IBOs.
If your guest fails to show up for coffee, call him/her. Ask if he is OK, did something happen? If you get an answer other than a real emergency, say… “That’s OK, I’m glad nothing is seriously wrong…but listen, should I go ahead and scratch you off my list, or are you still open to getting more information?” Most people don’t want to be “scratched off the list.”
If there is no local Business Briefing or meeting in your area, Core Commitment 4B says that you should start a small at-home meeting. Have your upline mentor as a guest via speakerphone. Another option is to plug into nationwide conference calls.
It is critically important to attend company events like National Convention, The Blast, Super Saturdays, Barrel of Cash and Sales Director Meetings. It is especially important for new IBOs because it helps you more clearly see the scope of the company and the possibilities you have to change your life. You will learn that the success of your business is directly related to how many people on your team attend company events. You will receive notice of upcoming events on your IBO Support web site.
