Walk through the first steps you need to take as an AmeriPlan® IBO. But first, let’s look for a moment at Core Commitment # 7.
We're starting with the last commitment first, because unless you have a serious commitment to work this business - unless you have your WHY - you won't make it through the first 6 commitments. Until you know your WHY, the HOW doesn't matter. The most important commitment you can make is that no matter what, you will be here a year from now. IBOs who fulfill this commitment will achieve success in their business.
- We start with Core Commitment # 7 first, the most important commitment you can make. Before you take your first step as an AmeriPlan® IBO, decide that no matter what, you will BE HERE A YEAR FROM NOW. This is not merely an important decision, it is the crucial decision. When you commit to being here a year from now, it means that your decision is irrevocable. Why is this decision so important? It is simple – IBOs who commit to being here a year from now are the ONLY ones who fulfill Core Commitments 1 – 6 (See Part A of Core Commitment # 7). And only by doing that will you achieve success in your AmeriPlan® business.
- An Absolute Truth – The greatest frustration in this business is not being able to get people to do that which we wish them to do. So Part B of Core Commitment # 7 is “ONLY WORK WITH THE WILLING.” You can avoid most of the frustration if you follow this principle and realize that when anyone does anything productive in the business, it is a bonus – it is a win for you.
Consider this: Every IBO defines success differently. But all IBOs have one thing in common. You all have reasons WHY you decided to pursue this business. Unless you know your “WHY”, it is unlikely you will fulfill the 7 Core Commitments and achieve the goals you set for yourself. Until you know your WHY, the HOW doesn’t matter.
It is important for you to:
- Complete the 20-3-50 assignment. The 20-3-50 assignment requires three worksheets; they are listed below in PDF format.
- Complete the 3 worksheets AND schedule a Planning Meeting with your upline mentor within 72 hours. Your upline mentor can help you get on track, follow the System and achieve results quickly.
- Identify your Top 10 prospects from your 50 Names Worksheet. Your upline mentor will teach you what to say when you pre-contact them to let them know you have the Ameriplan® “What If” DVD on the way for them to view.

STEP 1: List 20 reasons why you chose to pursue this business. Here is a question that may help you: “If you had all the time and money in the world, what would you do?”*
STEP 2: Identify the Top 3 reasons why you chose this business from your list of 20. Place your Top 3 where you will see it everyday- your wallet or purse, your bathroom mirror and your car.**
STEP 3: List the names of 50 people with whom you would like to share AmeriPlan’s services and opportunity. Think of people you come in contact with regularly – friends, relatives, neighbors, business associates, people from organizations you belong to, school and church acquaintances. Make sure that at least four people on your worksheet live 100 or more miles away from you. No significant earner in AmeriPlan® has an organization made up entirely of IBOs from his or her local area.***
While you wait for your RSD Training Kit and membership packet to arrive, here are three additional activities you should complete.
1. Know Your Product
- Familiarize yourself with the benefits you and other IBOs receive as Independent Business Owners.
- Learn the services a Dental Plus™ member receives.
- Learn the services an AmeriPlan Health™ member receives.
2. Know your Compensation Plan
- View the Compensation section of the “What If…“ DVD.
- View the Trainer Option Program webinar by clicking on the link at the top of the 7corecommitments homepage.
3. Establish short and long-term goals for your business.
Short-term
- If you did not sign up as an AmeriPlan® trainer, do so to take full advantage of AmeriPlan’s powerful Trainer Option Program.
- Personally sign up 3 new members within 28 days of your Trainer date to earn your Quick Start Bonus (QSB) and become a Certified Trainer (CT).
- Promote to Regional Sales Director (RSD) by personally signing up 6 members and 4 IBO business partners. You receive a vested contract that is willable and sellable.
Long-term
- Develop 3 first-level Certified Trainers (CTs). You are now eligible to earn Member Acquisition Bonuses (MABs).
- Develop 3 new first-level Regional Sales Directors (RSDs) in your first 90 days and promote to SRSD. At this level, you begin earning generous Builders Bonus Override commissions.
- Develop 3 new first-level SRSDs (Senior Regional Sales Directors) and promote to National Sales Director (NSD) by the end of your first year.
